Overview: A 50k Ultramarathon & Half Marathon on the Red River Gorge section of the Sheltowee Trace. This challenging course starts at the Koomer Ridge Campground and takes the runner through the best of the Gorge: scenic ridges, peaceful valleys, windswept arches and massive rock shelters. Camp out with us afterwards for companionship and camaraderie! This is a no-frills, "fat ass" style trail run. It’s all about getting in a great run at the Gorge, hanging out with fun people in an awesome place, and raising some money for the Sheltowee Trace Association. Yes, we’ll keep your time, but there are no medals, t-shirts, etc. We can guarantee that you will have a fun and challenging run, though!

Important Details:
- This is not an easy course. There are some solid climbs and technical stretches of trail. There is zero road running and there is only one road crossing on the entire course so bailing out can require many miles of walking.
- Aid stations are at least 6 miles apart. We STRONGLY recommend you carry water and nutrition.
- The course is on well-established trails, but will not be marked with ribbons, flags, etc. You will be given a detailed map with directions, but if you are like the first year's group there is about a 50% chance you will get lost.
- In conclusion, if you aren't comfortable with getting lost and wandering around in the woods at least a few miles from a road, this may not be the race for you.
- On the flip side, if a pure trail-running course in one of the most beautiful stretches of trail in the region is appealing to you, look no further!
